Get clean, consistent results with EMALLA Curved Magnum Tattoo Cartridges, designed for professional tattoo artists. The curved (soft-edge) magnum configuration follows the skin's contour for smooth shading, blending, and color packing, with reliable ink flow and needle movement.
Specs: 12 (0.35mm) needle gauge, long taper, available in 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21 and 23CML.
๐ Setup Guide
1. Before you open
- Check that the blister pack is sealed, undamaged, and within its expiry date. Don't use a cartridge if the seal is broken.
- Confirm the cartridge fits your machine or grip. Most universal cartridge pens accept standard cartridges, but check your machine's specs.
- Choose your size by coverage area: smaller mags (7โ11CML) for tighter shading and detail, larger mags (13โ23CML) for big smooth fills and blends.
2. Installing
- Wear fresh gloves and wrap your machine and grip in barrier film before handling.
- Open the pack right before use and insert the cartridge straight into the grip until it seats firmly.
- Make sure the flat side of the magnum lines up with your intended stroke direction.
3. Machine setup
- Run the machine briefly off-skin and check that the needle moves smoothly with no wobble or stalling.
- Adjust needle depth and hang so the needles just clear the tip when retracted.
- Set voltage and stroke according to your machine and technique. Magnums generally need a bit more power than liners because they drive more needles.
4. While tattooing
- Hold the magnum at a slight angle and keep your hand speed consistent for even saturation.
- Rinse between colors to keep ink flowing cleanly.
๐ง Troubleshooting
โ Ink won't flow or skips
- Rinse the cartridge and re-dip. Check that the cartridge is fully seated and that your voltage isn't too low for the needle group.
โ Patchy or uneven shading
- Check your hand speed and angle. Make sure the flat edge of the mag faces your stroke direction, and use a larger mag for big areas.
โ Too much skin trauma
- Reduce needle depth and don't overwork the area. Curved mags are gentler, but going over the same spot too many times still causes damage.
โ Cartridge rattles or wobbles
- Reseat or replace the cartridge and check that it's compatible with your grip.
๐ก๏ธ Safety & Disposal
- Single use only. Use a new cartridge for every client and never re-sterilize or reuse.
- Dispose of used cartridges in an approved sharps container right after the session.
- Store unopened packs in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Follow your local health department's regulations for sterile equipment.
